Pose Tool 3D App Reviews

Very useful

Great for reference. A few things would make it a five star app. -An undo button would be invaluable for when the wrong body part is mistakenly moved. -Adjustable height for the lights would add greater diversity for lighting. -The ability to flex the finger and toe regions would be extremely helpful for tailoring a basic pose and giving a better idea for placement. Individual digits dont need to be poseable. -Also desperately needs pan and rotate dial for the camera for better control over angles. Can be very frustrating when trying to turn the character to a preferred angle sometimes. There is a small glitch with saved poses. They dont always load exactly as they were when they were saved. This is mainly noticeable with the upper arm placement. They are often not as close to the body as they were when the pose was saved. Not sure if this is an issue with kinetics, but the code needs a bit of tweaking in this area. Other than those few issues. This app is invaluable as a posing reference. Comes in very handy for helping lay down basic ideas.

Awesome app

This app far exceeded my expectations, well worth the money. Wonderful controls and easy user interface. Only thing I think this app could use is an inclusion of the horizon line or base plain.

Save bug resolved. Great app!

Previously reviewed this app saying I was having save issues. After a few uninstalls/reinstalls, it works as it should. Only issue now is that the upper arms of saved poses move slightly when reloaded. Very minor bug. Excellent app. Great resource for illustrators. Any chance youll introduce a full app screen rotation in the future? I hook my iPod to my tv so I can have a larger display, and being able to use this app in landscape instead of portrait would be a really useful addition.

Woah.

Unbelievably useful and well done.

Great app. Needs sharing of presets among users

The tedious process of setting poses takes some of the fun out of using this. A shared repository of user presets would go a long way to making the app more useable

I find it very helpful.

I find this app is very helpful as a reference tool, I have it open on my iPhone while I draw on my iPad. If there is one area I think could be improved it would be the face. Mostly I would like to see aim-able eyes and functional eye lids. A few tools to alter expression would be nice. Even if the expressions are just a few presets.

Why cant save?

Good app but I cannot save my created figure.

Fail

This app is total failure. First of all ui is really bad. And the things you can do with app is really very limited. You move arms legs so slowly that it annoys you. You cant easily move lights. There are better apps for cheapier price. God.. Cant believe i spent this much for such app. Sorry but this app really sucks.

really great app

Bought the app and I am really pleased :) i just wish It had hip control too, to make more sassy poses, but in general Its the best app so far Ive found for posing refference!

unusable

No landscape mode for iPad, low picture quality, very slow to operate, you cant move figure parts by finger, you have to tap and tap and tap to see any effect. Very poor app for this money.

❤❤❤ Great!

This is really useful app. Thank you soo much!

Almost there..!!!

As an artist this app help me alot! I love it! There is onl one thing that is missing that kind of handycaps me here. The fact that I cannot export the poses as jpeg or in any other way onto my pc. I have to make a screenshot of the pose on my device. If this feature could be added it would be great so the artist using it doesnt have to copy by memory but simply use the pose as is. I hope this is clear sorry My english is rusty

Good! Could be great.

Those icons in the lower right menu are tough to decipher. Why not just have words? Please? Maybe include some pre-installed poses to get us started and save some time.

Needs IK

Posing is too slow a process If you added inverse kinematics this app would be great

Great app, minor tweaks would make it better

I love this app, it functions great on most aspects and has really helped me with tricky poses. True sometimes you get clipping, but its an ipad app, not a desktop program. It works GREAT for the money! My only major point of issue is the camera rotation. I can never seem to get the figure to turn left/right without them turning diagonally. If you and in an X, Y, and Z axis rotation tool (like for the limbs only it moves the camera) that would be awesome. You wouldnt have to remove the current rotation method, just adding a "fine control" rotation method.

Amazing!....but that icon...

This is an incredible reference tool for artists. You can use your finger and arrow keys to get any view of the figure, or zoom in to an area like the head. My one complaint for now is the icon. Cmon I know you can design a real one.

Fantastic app, but could be more user-friendly.

This app is extremely well done, but not perfect yet. It definitely has the potential to go much further. It will take a little time to get used to as it has a very complicated interface, but a little time to familiarize yourself with the mechanics is well worth the results. I have been using it for my high school art classes, and its definitely advanced enough for a student. The various body shapes sets it apart from other similar programs, and I like that they look like humans rather than artist mannequins like other apps. It also a nice touch that they added the different guideline settings, like the stick-figure one, as an option to help beginners get started. It makes it obvious that is was developed with artists of all levels in mind. My suggestions is that instead of the buttons you press up or down to pose, that there could be sliders or something else to indicate the poses settings. That could be a fantastic feature because right now, there is no way to know how far from a parts default position you have gotten. The slider concept could also be accompanied by a button you could click than would display a page that shows all the slider positions. That page could be easily captured with a screenshot, and allow for a way to recreate any additional poses over the 20 the app allows to be stored. Users could print it out and file it somewhere along with various screenshots of the pose to create their own little personal database. It sounds like a complicated feature, but I think itd be worth the developers time. Basically, other than its lack of space for poses (20 poses is not even close to the amount someone might need for larger projects where they may be including more than one figure in a work), and the fact that there is no visual indication of HOW a part has been moved so the position could be easily recreated, its fantastic. It is worth more than what theyre asking for it honestly. :P

Fantastic app that has lots of potential to be even better

Great manipulation control of just about every aspect of the body youd want to move. Really top notch attention to manipulation detail. Definitely allows you to create a sense of realism with the figures. Areas where it could improve have been mentioned below. I like the suggestion for individual slider controls for each body part rather than the joystick controls. Would also say that a button to reset individual parts to default position (sometimes you can get lost when trying to correct) would save users from having to reset full figure. An option to save a pose to camera roll is needed. The rotation/pan controls to move around figure could also use some taming as theyre rather jumpy. Additional skins (skeletal/mannequin) would be great too but not necessary. Happy with the existing skins so not top priority for me right now. Add camera roll save and tune the rotate/pan controls and this is definitely a 5 star app. Great work.

The fingers

This app is amazing! I would just like to ask if the fingers can have all the details. That way I can make some detailed hand movements.

Perfect

Ive been looking for something like this, but Im blown away with the amount of control I get. Multiple light sourcing. The one thing I wish was possible is the facial features. Needs control of the jaw and eyebrows. And maybe the toes. If it had those features Id rate 5 star and brag to every artist I work with about it...
